Translated as “something new that has just been created, like a new flower” NJOMZA (pronounced nēyōm’zä) synonymously mirrors her innate drive for pushing forward and her journey of self-discovery in forging her own path of omnific artistry. Born in Germany and there until the age of 5 after her parents fled the Serbian war in Kosovo, the currently Los Angeles-based artist settled in Chicago for her adolescent upbringing following a brief stopover in The Bronx, New York. Beginning to write songs at 8 years old and recording her first song when she was 13, music has always been–and continues to be–an emotional release and therapy for NJOMZA. Regardless of where she was, both physically or emotionally, NJOMZA has always intuitively felt that the road to something much larger than herself was out there. Knowing how much she has to offer and preferring to let her own music and finesse speak for itself, NJOMZA has authentically embraced her roots, timing, and true destiny through her evolutionary journey of self-discovery: releasing the music she was born to dream up as a creative in her own right.
